I have looked at the chipset files on my Dell drivers and downloads CD, but I m not sure what files to put on the floppy. they came with a windows7 computer would they work with a windows XP install. My Dell laptop is a Studo 1558, but hardware listed in the 1555 is the same.
Ron Harries 25 wouldnt it be an idea to include one on how to slipstream the drivers with the XP ISO.
System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio Laptop OS windows7 CPU I3 Graphics Card Radeon 4500 series 18 Hi larrym29 Download from Dell. After F6 I was actually shown 4 different contollers I started at the top and worked my way through all 4. During my search for Studio15 XP drivers I did run across a thread in Dell forum, where a person was trying to setup a WIn7/XP dual boot on a Studio 1558.
There was a response from another MEMBER stating that the 1558 Bios would not allow Windows XP install. I am debating flashing my Studio 1558 with the 1555 bios if that is even possible.
Purchased new HPE 150t and want to dual boot XP for older games that may be glitchy under windows 7.
Would like to make it less complicated as possible and already have external floppy, but I see you mentioned USB flash drives won t work so just curious, thanks. I currently have an xp pro machine running on a sata drive. I have since built a newer faster machine also with sata drives running windows 7 64 bit.
